How to Use Single Projector Systems
Purpose
This document provides step-by-step instructions for using a single ceiling-mounted projector or wall-mounted large-format display with the classroom AV system.
Scope
This guide applies to Palomar College rooms equipped with a single projector or large-format display and a touch-screen AV control panel. Available sources may include the built-in lectern computer, document camera, external devices, and wireless sharing.
Procedure
1 - Turn On the AV System
From the touch-screen control panel, press the power button to turn on the AV system.

2 - Select a Source and Adjust Audio
The system defaults to the built-in lectern PC.
To use another source, select the appropriate source button on the left side of the touch screen, such as Document Camera, Solstice Pod, HDMI, Mini DP, or USB-C.
Use the volume control and Audio Mute button as needed. Keep the source device volume at 100% for proper audio gain structure.
If no video signal is detected, verify that the selected device is powered on and connected correctly.

3 - Connect an External Device
Connect the laptop, USB-C enabled smartphone, or tablet using the appropriate connection.
Select the matching source on the touch-screen control panel.
4 - Use Wireless Sharing with Solstice Pod
Where available, select Solstice Pod on the touch screen.
Follow the on-screen instructions to begin wireless video casting.
Solstice Pod supports Windows 10, Apple OSX, Android, and iOS devices.

5 - Temporarily Mute the Projector
To temporarily stop displaying the projected image without turning off the AV system, press Video Mute on the bottom-right of the touch-screen interface.
Press Video Mute again to restore the image.

Note: The AV system turns off after 15 minutes of inactivity as an energy-saving feature.
6 - Turn Off the AV System
When finished, press System Off on the touch screen.
Confirm the system shuts down before leaving the room.
