Audio Troubleshooting & FAQ
Purpose
This document provides troubleshooting steps for common classroom audio issues, including audio from a Windows 10 computer, external HDMI or USB-C devices, and external 3.5 mm audio devices.
Scope
This document applies to Palomar College classroom AV systems that use ceiling speakers and an Extron HDMI audio playback device.
Procedure
Question: Why can't I hear any audio coming through the ceiling speakers?
Step 1 - Check Audio on a Windows 10 Computer
Verify the Windows volume is set to 100% using the volume slider in the lower-right corner of the desktop.
If needed, press the Windows key and search for sound settings to open the audio settings.
In the sound control panel, verify that Extron HDMI is selected as the audio playback device.
